Pau Ferro Tea aid in Asthma Treatment

Pau Ferro - Caesalpinia ferrea Martins

Origin: Brazil

Used part: Fruit

Description:

Of Brazilian origin, Pau Ferro is a medicinal plant that recently gained great status by being proven to be the great enemy of gastric ulcers. Also called Jucá, this plant is abundant in the Brazilian states of Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo, Ceará and Alagoas, however, not only in these two states is it possible to find Pau ferro in the northeast.

By popular knowledge, Pau ferro stem was widely used in ulcer treatments, however in the last years the leaves of the plant have been studied, which promise to have double the efficiency. This fact should not completely rule out the benefits of stem, since it alone has been quite effective in treating the problem. Studies are still being carried out to discover the compound or group of substances that are responsible for the benefits of the plant, as well as the analysis of Pau ferro to see if it has any toxic effect.
